Portrait of Ira Perrot

This poster is a faithful reproduction of one of Tamara de Lempicka’s most celebrated paintings from her mature Art Deco period. The composition is defined by sculptural clarity, controlled sensuality, and strong contrasts between light and shadow. The white dress and calla lilies introduce calm and structure, while the red drapery and angular forms lend tension and rhythm to the image.
The subject of the painting is Ira Perrot, a French poet, close friend, and long-time lover of Lempicka. Perrot sat for the original portrait in 1930 and is believed to have served as the model for several other works by the artist, including Woman in the Black Dress and Her Sadness. Their relationship extended over decades and formed an important part of Lempicka’s personal and artistic life.
Produced as an authorized, licensed poster, this 2004 edition is not an exhibition print but a high-quality art poster made after the original painting, issued with the approval of the artist’s estate.
